workaround atm is to just install environments in rhino 7 (or excel) and move to rhino 8 once installed as normal workflows work once installed.
The install process does not set "PYTHONHOME" = "" when installing ipykernel so rhino 8 inserts its own python environment variables thus breaking installation. Solution is to properly set PYTHONHOME when installing ipykernel
