Linguist used in production for language detection

Commit 665ab4d made the dependence on Linguist optional. Does it mean that, in production, Linguist is not used anymore for language detection prior to rendering files?

Knowing this would help us classify some of the issues reported at github/linguist 🙂

Indeed; it was pointed out in #537 that this caused issues on some platforms, so we made the dependency optional. But we definitely continue to use Linguist in production in conjunction with Markup.
